for a long while i have answered, "i play the flag."
and i have spun flag, danced, etc...
well, now when people ask what i play, i reply happily, "i play the Cotton Candy."
i got a solo where i am a little girl at a theme park and i have an ungodly huge thing of cotton candy (which usually falls apart after every show). i dance with it and am happy.
then, a clarinet player(my own twin sister, nonetheless!) breaks form, with a nod of approval from the evil drum line (actually, they wrote a nod into their choreography before we made the solo so now it looks like they are approving of the decision.) she decides to steal my candy.
i don't see her coming, she snatches it, i fall to the ground and cry, then make chase through the entire woodwind section, weaving through their form.
she is looking back at me running and doesn't see the baritone player sneaking over to take the candy. i see it and chase him, through the tuba section and he flaunts it, i snatch it from him and run to the center of the baritone/tuba circle, dance and prance with my candy, and move centre field, i then dance, share it with the two thieves, and am happy, end in the splits.
then the drum set solo startles me and i run off the field, right where the sabre duets start, emphasizing them.
Isn't that amazing?!!!!!
even more amazign and terrible: i stole the solo!
who would think that a 4'9" persun like me would steal it? and the dancer who had it first is tall and thin... i think it is because i am more little girl like... still amazing!!!
